Most Christians when faced with the question of what the world was like in the days of Adam will give you a puzzled look and shrug, or reply with "I don't know, I guess I'll have to wait on God to tell me". After quite a few philosophical theological discussion with my friend Aaron Osborne about a multitude of mysterious things in the bible, I began talking about the fall of Satan. The most in depth description of him we have before the fall is:
"You were in Eden, the Garden of God, every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were anointed cherub who covers, I established you, you were on the holy mountain of God, you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones." Ezekiel 28:13-14
This is directed toward the King of Tyre, however a mortal man at that point in time would have never been in the Garden of God. The common view is that the prophet is speaking to Lucifer who is controlling the King of Tyre. It is possible that he was possessed.
Examining this verse as it is leads me to believe that the stones represent the colors of light that emanated from his being. After all the name Lucifer means "Light-Bearing" according to http://www.merriam-webster.com/
The timbrels and pipes were probably not literal, but if they are he would have looked like a marching band. I believe it is a figurative statement, meaning he has the ability to make any musical sound, perhaps even play music in the stead of an entire orchestral ensemble.
Next are verses 15-19:
"You were blameless in all you did from the day you were created until the day evil was found in you. Your great wealth filled you with violence, and you sinned. So I banished you from the mountain of God. I expelled you, O mighty guardian, from your place among the stones of fire. Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings. You defiled your sanctuaries with your many sins and your dishonest trade. So I brought fire from within you, and it consumed you. I let it burn you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. All who knew you are appalled at your fate. You have come to a terrible end, and you are no more."
When I examined these verses I came to the conclusion that "You defiled your sanctuaries with your many sins and your dishonest trade" could possibly mean Lucifer had many places where he resided, like a king's summer home or alternate castles, and that he traded with other places. I took the point of view that Satan's domain was originally the second heaven, what we today call "outer space", and that he had a giant trade route. It may sound far fetched, but it already takes a lot of faith to believe in the supernatural, so why would this be any harder to believe?
The prophecy continues to tell us he was cast to earth and fire came from within him, turning him into ashes on the ground in the sight of those who watch. Those who watch would be other angels. Does fire coming from inside something remind you of anything? How about a dragon? The devil is often called a dragon in the bible, as well as a serpent. Black scales could be the ashes.
Now the reason this is important to the creation is simple. I will do a verse by verse examination.
1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
(This was prior to the 6 days which reformed the Earth we now know. It is a generalization, not stating that they were created together, but simply stating this happened first.)
1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
(The water spoken of here is ice, which scientists refer to as the "Ice Age". This is after Lucifer fell to the Earth. The pressure from the ice would be plenty enough to create fossils and fossil fuels.)
In the first two verses something is lacking. Originally verse 1:2 started with "now," instead of the "and" that we see today. It would change the context of the statement made by these two verses as explained in parentheses.
1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
(According to science, the Ice Age was created by a meteor strike. There simply was no Meteor. Instead the "meteor" was Satan himself. When he struck the Earth he penetrated fully through the planet, pulling some of the molten core out the other side with him. The impact left a dust/smoke cloud around the entire earth, completely blotting out all light from the Sun. This verse is saying that God commanded the dust to settle. On another note, the immediate volcanic ash, magma, dirt and rocks which were too big to create a cloud-like cover on the earth covered all the life on the planet.)
1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
(It is possible that the impact caused the Earth's rotation to slow, causing the same side or "face" of the earth to point toward the sun for a long time. At this point in time the Earth began to speed up in rotation again, allowing day and night to come about again. There is no specification for how many hours this day was.)
1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
1:7 And God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
(This period is enough time for some of the ice to evaporate, creating a cloud cover over the earth. This cloud cover is nothing like the clouds we see today, probably very thin. Again bear in mind there is no description of how many hours these days were, simply one rotation of the planet.)
1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
(This is the period in time that due to the exposure of the surface of the planet to the sun that the rest of the ice can melt, settling into seas, lakes, and rivers. Of course some wouldn't melt, leaving ice caps. The Earth bringing forth grass is due to the seed which lied dormant under the ice which had been on the surface of the Earth for an undefined amount of time. This explains why the flora we have today much resembles the plants in the time of the Dinosaurs.)
1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
(At this point in time All of the dust had settled and the stars began to be seen through the thin cloud cover.)
1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
(At this point in time we can refer to Lucifer's fall to the Earth. The moon which had been pulled from the Earth itself finally solidified. Debris from the impact created the craters we see to this day. The stars are again referred to here; a reiteration.)
1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
(All life had been destroyed from the planet due to Lucifer's cataclysm. God recreated the Earth's fauna at this time, much different from the animal life present before the cataclysm. I believe Dinosaurs and all of the creatures which scientists call "missing links" existed before Satan's first demise.)
1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
(A lot of verses together, but all of these events happened during the sixth day through indefinite hours. God simply made new animals to live on the 2nd iteration of Earth. Some of them would be the same as on the first version of the earth, some would be new. The most prevalent new creation is Man.)
And that is an alternate theory on the process of creation, consolidating the evidence scientists discovered with biblical history. Look forward to my next post which is a take on why man was created in the first place.

ReplyDeleteVery interesting as always, I do remember this conversation. We definitely need to be podcasting.
